Ben Holbrook, Senior, Journalism major, and editor of the Critic newspaper, shared some information on himself.
“I chose journalism to be my field because English was always my strongest subject and I liked to write,” Holbrook said. “Also because I knew it would give me the chance to meet different people and I know I will not be doing the same thing each day.”
Holbrook also pointed out the ups and downs of being an editor. “I like that the Critic gives me a chance to hone my skills and give me a chance to see what it’s really like to be an editor,” He said, “What I don’t like is that it’s a 24 hour a day job and I don’t always have the time or the desire to work.”
At the end of the semester, Holbrook plans to send out resumes to every newspaper he knows, and hope for a good response from one of them. As for the next editor for the Critic, he and the Critic’s adviser Dan Williams, will decide on a new one based on who shows the most potential in journalism.
